Great Views, Great Builds!
The Gallery Condominiums is a luxurious condo community based around art culture. It contains a total of 336 units in four 6 storey buildings. This development is affectionately called “The Gallery Condominiums” as per its namesake and integrates reputable local and national award-winning art to adorn the foyer, walls and corridors. This was done to create boutique art galleries in the lobbies of each building.
Pratt Homes held a community wide contest to select a feature landmark piece of artwork to be prominently displayed on the roof of “The Maclaren” building where it will be a feature for generations to come. Five artwork submissions were made by award winning international artists. The winning submission, as voted by the residents of the City of Barrie, was an impressive large-scale piece of art by Aylan Couchie (an international award winning artist) called “HIO Big Chiefs”. HIO stands for Huron, Iroquois and Ojibwe (indigenous tribes) – this piece pays tribute to the indigenous people who settled around the Kempenfelt Bay area.
One of the buildings offers a stunning 11,000 square foot rooftop patio with views across all of Barrie. The patio offers an interactive art installation called “Don’t Sweat It” by Aylan Couchie as well as a prominent sculpture titled the “Celestial Scope” by local artist Ron Baird.
Carrying through with the theme, each building was named after well-known galleries. “The Maclaren”, “The R.O.M”, “The Met” and “The Louvre” are positioned right next to 14 acres of environmentally protected land with walking trails, board walks and lookouts. It’s an incredible location at 300 Essa Rd in Barrie.
